Pregnancy Theme Song

For a couple of months now, whenever I hear this song by Addison Road I can't help but think that it's meant to encourage me throughout this pregnancy. When the what-ifs and anxiety rise up within me, I'm going to try to rest in the comfort of its Truths about our Lord.

"Hope Now" by Addison Road

If everything comes down to love
Then just what am I afraid of
When I call out Your name
Something inside awakes in my soul
How quickly I forget I'm Yours

I'm not my own
I've been carried by You
All my life

Everything rides on hope now
Everything rides on faith somehow
When the world has broken me down
Your love sets me free

When my life is like a storm
Rising waters all I want is the shore
You say I'll be ok and
Make it through the rain
You are my shelter from the storm

Everything rides on hope now
Everything rides on faith somehow
When the world has broken me down
Your love sets me free

I am not my own
I've been carried by you all my life

Everything rides on hope now
Everything rides on faith somehow
When the world has broken me down
Your love sets me free

You've become my hearts desire
I will sing Your praises higher
Cause Your love sets me free
Your love sets me free
Your love sets me free

Sweetie,
How true! I often picture myself, when I in the middle of chaos and crisis, being carried down a rushing river, tossed and buffeted by the roaring water, until I am able to grasp a boulder in the middle of the torrent of water, where i cling for dear life. The boulder is Christ, of course, who is always the steady rock and shelter form the storm I will walk beside you throughout this...Love, Mom

I'm not familiar with the song, but it's always great to find music that is uplifting and encouraging. I'll have to check it out on iTunes.

Dear friend, this reminded me of something I held onto through the tests and trials that we faced in having Jonathan. It's long, but I just have to share it. We all stand with you in the sacrament of waiting, and watch your beautiful trust, faith, and vulnerability through this time. You are a blessing to all who know you, and we stand alongside you in this vigil of trust in our God. Love you so so much. xo

The Sacrament of Waiting

Slowly
she celebrated the sacrament of letting go.
First she surrendered her green,
then the orange, yellow, and red
finally she let go of her brown.
Shedding her last leaf
she stood empty and silent, stripped bare.
Leaning against the winter sky
she began her vigil of trust.

Shedding her last leaf
she watched its journey to the ground.
She stood in silence
wearing the color of emptiness,
her branches wondering;
How do you give shade with so much gone?

And then,
the sacrament of waiting began.
The sunrise and sunset watched with tenderness.
Clothing her with silhouettes
they kept her hope alive.

They helped her understand that
her vulnerability,
her dependence and need,
her emptiness,
her readiness to receive
were giving her a new kind of beauty.

Every morning and every evening they stood in silence
and celebrated together
the sacrament of waiting.

Heard your song today. Weeping in the car I lifted you up feeling powerless to our God. Only he can bring you this peace and hope that you posess. I am relentless before him for you and your family.
loving you a far,
Amy
