Pumpkin patch

Saturday was absolutely gorgeous--mid 60's, sunny, blue skies. The perfect day to head to the (non-muddy) pumpkin patch! Luckily we live close to a great one on Sauvie Island, a beautiful farming community about 15 minutes from our house. The drive there is the quintessential "out in the country" experience, passing large fields of hay and grazing cows, llamas and horses. The pumpkin patch is a huge production! Hundreds of visitors park in a field and then walk to the activities...a corn maze, petting zoo (well, more of a "just look, don't touch zoo"), country store, food booths, and a tractor-pulled hayride out to the pumpkin patch and back. Maddie was in heaven! We went with our friends Jason and Cheryl and their cutie-pie, 9-month-old Lucy. Then back to our house for a comforting Autumn dinner of chili over mashed potatoes, salad, and warm apple-pear crisp with vanilla ice cream for dessert. How perfect!

Wow... sounds like such a perfect day! I can almost taste your apple pear crsip! And what a joy to see Maddie in her mommy's element. :) She already looks like a fall girl for sure! Can't wait to see what you do with your pumpkins.

Oh! And I forgot to tell you that I love your sweater and scarf! I'm so jealous of cooler weather, and you look beautiful! :)

It looks like you had a great time! I love the new fall look for your blog too! You got some great family shots- something we totally spaced on! I was so concerned with getting cute pics of the kids, I didn't even think to ask one of our 8 friends with us to snap a family photo! We may have to take your suggestion and get a belly vs. pumpkin shot!

This baby still seems to be holding out- so we could be looking at a 26th birthday after all! That would be fun!
